Hala Kahiki Tiki Lounge - River Grove

Great experience! We had a fun and unique daytime visit to Hala Kahiki yesterday. Our server, Paul, along with all the staff, were incredibly friendly and attentive.

The ambiance is wonderful, and the drink selection is intriguing. They also offer some good non-alcoholic options, which isn't always typical for places like this. However, I haven't returned in quite some time...

Nestled in the suburbs of Chicago, Hala Kahiki is a classic tiki bar that has been around for quite some time. After visiting Three Dots and a Dash in downtown, I couldn’t help but draw some comparisons...

Ambiance is great, and the drinks are interesting. Decent NA drinks too, which isn 't always the case for places like this. However, I haven 't been back in years because the wait times can be insane AND the last time I went, the hostess was blatantly letting her friends, people she knew/liked, etc. skip the line. To be fair, they may have fixed this in the meantime, but I 'm not a person with a great deal of free time, so I haven 't been back to check. When stuff like this happens, the message I hear is we don 't respect your time; don 't bother coming here, so I don 't.
