Contribuiți la feedbackSkiing for a few days in Alagna we wanted to try some of the places recommended by the locals (who have been so welcoming). Our guide Andrea took us to some beautiful parts of the mountains with great fresh snow and gave us some great restaurant tips. Rifugio Valle Vogna was stunning. Some 15 minutes away from Alagna, lost on a small road, faced with a beautiful little Church (which was open when we got there on a Saturday evening), we had a fantastic meal at the Rifugio. In practice it's a small restaurant and cafe for the locals, maybe 10 tables for 4 people each only. The menu is limited but changes based on what is available: antipasto, primo, secondo, dolce... all for 25 Euros! Even the best bottle of red was another €25 only. Probably one of the best value meals ever but also an excellent one with tons of charm. Warmly recommended, I would eat there every weekend if I could teleport myself!
This restaurant has a great location and during summer it is possible to dine on the terrace (with and amazing view of mountains and river). Food is traditional but very good. Portions are for big foot. It’s what you expect from a mountain restaurant.
Located in the heart of Valle Vogna , at an altitude of 1380 meters, the small homonymous rifuge can be reached by car from Riva Valdobbia. This ancient structure, warm and friendly introduces the visitor into an ancient and timeless atmosphere. This refuge represents a convenient starting point for numerous walks inside and around this nice valley. The homely cooking offers guests with platters of cold cuts, meat stew with polenta (rabbit, ribs, stew and game) and the special soup of Val Vogna: the Potatoes Maserai . Simple and great!
Excellent food, very nice people, a wonderful place to stay. A little bar, meeting point of the valley, Old photos and all the books about the valley are available..
Such a delightful refuge- small but perfectly formed. Warm, generous hosts and the food homemade and delicious. We went twice so tried the ravioli, venison, beef, rabbit and of course pasta pomodoro for the kids- all really good. The torta di mele was the type of cake you dream about the day after! A wonderful place to stop after walking the divine Val Vogna.
