Little Italy - Rishīkesh

Lots of vegan options that were too good after a long trip around India (with a rice, roti and curry overload). Huge avocado sandwiches, immense “bowls” that are actually complete three-course meals. Very nice drinks of any kind, from teas with fresh mint to creative smoothies and coffees. Breakfast menu is also super exciting. Staff is chill and doesn’t bug you if you spend too long lounging around (like in other places here in India, constantly looking at you, are you ready to go to empty space for other customers) On the contrary, they come to play with kids of the guests and seem to be enjoying their job. People are allowed to smoke anywhere which is the only drawback for us, but that’s the general vibe of the place, take it or leave it. Open til very late.

The food at this restaurant is exceptional! There's no doubt about it. Like most places, there is a long wait for the food, but it is worth it. I ordered vegetables with hummus and a salad, both of which were delicious. The prices are a bit high, but the portions are large. However, I found the atmosphere and overall comfort of the place lacking. The low roof made the restaurant very dark, with limited seating by the front windows for a good view. There is also an outdoor area where smoking is allowed, which I found annoying and unpleasant given the environment. I also dislike the smell of smoke with my food.

Something's going on in Little Buddha. The food is delicious and the view on the Ganges is very nice. The mood is relaxed, although it is usually full. The food is delicious. There are some vegan options. I had a vegan tofu plate that would also be enough for two people. Most dishes, however, are vegetarian.
