Last May 2023, my friend and I had the pleasure of dining at the Forest Restaurant in Riga on our first day, and it was an unforgettable experience that surpassed all expectations. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, we were greeted warmly by the staff, and the ambiance exuded an inviting and cozy atmosphere. We began our culinary journey with the beef fillet carpaccio, and it was a masterpiece on a plate. The presentation was awe-inspiring, with delicate slices of tender beef fillet drizzled in truffle olive oil that lent an earthy richness to each bite. The subtle hint of sea salt perfectly complemented the flavors, while the generous sprinkling of Monte Campo cheese added a delightful creaminess that elevated the dish to a whole new level. The environment of the restaurant is clean. Otherwise, everything is a big disappointment. We had a 7 course dinner and a wine package. The first thing we asked was if we wanted bread, for which we were billed, which became clear only from the receipt. The bread was thawed in the microwave. The parmesan in the portions is not parmesan. Ravioli was a finished product. They serve frozen meals and ready meals, which they modify a bit themselves. In the wine package, we didn't know what we were drinking. Wine was brought to the table by the glass and the country of origin and grape were told. We never saw the bottles. Avoid this place!
