The Garden Wensleydale Heifer

We had a wonderful stay at the Heifer Hideaway. The food at the Heifer is consistently excellent, thanks to head chef Craig and his team. I have no complaints about the Wensleydale Heifer and would highly recommend it. Five stars all around.

I wish I could have stayed at the WH for more than one night. The warm welcome upon arrival and confirmation of our dining arrangements set the tone for a great stay. The first floor accommodation required some caution when accessing, with a narrow and steep staircase, but assistance was readily available if needed. My room was warm and cosy, located at the rear of the building with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. The bathroom had a walk-in shower, which better suited my needs, and was spotlessly clean with everything in working order. The restaurant was busy on the Bank Holiday Monday evening, but the service was excellent and the quality and presentation of the dishes were exceptional. Breakfast offered a wide selection of dishes to accommodate different tastes, from Continental to a Full on Yorkshire breakfast. The staff were helpful, efficient, and not intrusive. Checking out was simple, but leaving so soon for a long journey home was a shame. I hope to return for a longer stay if the opportunity arises.

The team at this restaurant is fantastic and the food is fabulous. I had a great experience and enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch.

Stayed just one night, en route from a trip North. The staff were really lovely. Dinner was amazing, starting with Oysters and the most amazing steaks. No room for dessert this time but they looked really good. The room was very clean, the bathroom and amenities were excellent. We stayed in the Hiefer room which had a starlight ceiling which we kept on all night. The breakfast was really good. All in all, this was the first but most definitely not the last time we will stay here. We're already planning the next excuse to travel up. A must stay or evening meal in the Dales. Beautiful.

Lunchtime visit, my word what a fabulous place to eat. The food was excellent as were the staff and the setting. What a find.
