MI-NE Japanese Restaurant

Wonderful place to dine in or takeout! The sushi that is made here is incredible! Not like those tiny sushies made in a regular Japanese restaurant, this restaurant meets the Canadian style, the sushi is filled up with stuffings, and raw fishes slices are super fresh and very tasty! The atmosphere in this restaurant is also very authentic, great place to have a conversation with someone without all the noise in the background. The staff is also very friendly! Their service is overall wonderful and reliable.

We've been here a few times. The restaurant is a bit on the older side, so the booths are kind of tight for space. The service is excellent, with the server coming back to top up our tea without being asked and checking up on us to make sure everything is good. The rice with the sushi was slightly too wet/sticky. Prices are comparable or just slightly more than other Japanese restaurants in the area.

MI NE has been very consistent over the years. It serves Korean style Japanese sushi rolls a little complicated sounding, I know.Service is excellent and food is fresh and delicious!The Kalbi beef rib appetizer or box set appears pricey but when you're served, you'll realize that it's a very high quality short beef rib, juicy, without excess fat you get with cheaper cuts. It'd delicious! You'll want to eat all the veggies the kalbi is served on as they absorb the sweet beefy flavour of these ribs.The specialty rolls seem pricey as well, but they are large, with only a thin (1 to 2 grains thick! layer of rice around generous fillings topped with as generous sashimi etc. Two specialty rolls can easily full 2 adults.The regular rolls are good, albeit smaller, but also priced according we ordered the yam tempura roll for under $10. It came out as 6 rolls with a large serving on sweet potato fries on top!This is the OG location, I believe, a little on the small side. We had no issues getting a booth for 5 at 1pm on a Sunday but would suggest getting reservations for dinner time.Vegetarian options: Tofu and veggie tempura bento box sets available.

Lunch special has lots of choices and pretty decent price.Food 8/10

We have been clients to Mi-NE for many years. This used to be the go-to place for sushi in Richmond Hill.Things changed over the years, prices went up over and over again, forcing us to buy less and less from them. The food is still good but over years I noticed a decline in quantity, quality and presentation.In house atmosphere was never great but we stopped going in as the place feels more like a take out shop than a sit down restaurant. This was probably exacerbated by COVID as the restaurant did take out to survive.Service quality was always average but since we haven't been inside in a while, I don't know if this changed. Occasionally they miss something from the order (like a sauce that should be included) but it didn't happen very often so I don't think this should be a concern.All in all, the food is decent and will buy again.
