Too bad, we don't have more eateries specializing in this famous regional cuisine. The three of us delve right into the four dishes we ordered as soon as available. We unanimously have to say that all of them were up to our expectations including the two dessert. As it turns out, the sweet Taro dessert is the best, as it's rarely available anywhere else.I have to say that it's an authentic Chiu Chau restaurant!
The food was excellent, with a wide variety to choose from. The service was outstanding as well; we were greeted warmly, and when we requested sauces and seasonings, they were brought to us immediately. The decor is a bit dated, but that didn’t bother me at all. I would definitely go back again.
As soon as you step into this charming little restaurant, you can tell it's the real deal. The staff is incredibly quick and efficient, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The sound of clinking cutlery and lively conversations transports you to another world. The food is not only delicious but also served in generous portions. I also thought the small jugs of vinegar and soy sauce were quite lovely. The chili oil is both spicy and delightful—a must-try! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will absolutely be back.
The service was unacceptable and disappointing. When we politely asked for an extra pair of chopsticks to share, the waitress with a ponytail responded, "Don't you have enough?" I was taken aback by her attitude. This was our only request, so I don't understand why she seemed annoyed at the thought of helping customers.
I first visited this restaurant with my family around six years ago. At that time, they had a fantastic selection of dishes, generous portions, and reasonable prices. However, I stopped going a couple of years ago because I always ended up feeling unwell afterward. I decided to give it another try on May 27th, opting for the safe choice of Yang Chow fried rice, but unfortunately, I got sick again about five hours later. If you do decide to visit, I recommend taking a look into the kitchen; you'll see the cooks using the same tongs for everything. Also, I've noticed that the portion sizes are decreasing while the prices are increasing.
