Yen Ching - Richmond

I've been visiting this restaurant for years, and the food is always delicious and fresh. Yen Ching is, without a doubt, my favorite Chinese restaurant. Even though I've recently moved to Virginia Beach, I make it a point to stop by whenever I'm in the area. Their honey crispy chicken is truly unmatched.

As newcomers to the area, we were on the hunt for a good Chinese restaurant, but unfortunately, this one did not meet our expectations. They didn’t adhere to our specific request for the fried rice. Additionally, the delivery driver was told that we hadn’t paid, even though I had already made the payment online. What we received as fried rice was merely steamed rice with soy sauce—there was nothing fried about it. Given the amount we paid, we anticipated a better experience in terms of flavor, quality, and portion size. Overall, we were left disappointed.

First and last time! I ordered for a trusted employee who was leaving, and I was extremely disappointed to serve them this stale food. The shrimps were old and greasy, the noodles were unappetizing, and the rice had a stale smell. Yikes!

The food is always delicious, but this was the first time I actually ate inside the restaurant for lunch on a weekend. I ordered a coke with little ice and received this half-filled glass with flat coke about 20 minutes after ordering (and after being reminded about your forgotten drinks. We received our appetizer and food before out drinks, including water). When the coke arrived, there was no carbonation. The food was great, but the service was okay even though it wasn't
