521 Biscuits Waffles - Richmond

First, everything is gluten-free and its so good! Can?t remember the last time I had a biscuit or a scone? Second, I have been here twice, once in 2019 again in 2022 during the Richmond Marathon. Lines were long but the staff was friendly, professional and it was worth the wait. I asked people if they knew everything was gluten free and they said no. They came because the food was good and it was close to the start line.

It was an okay experience. They were busy bit not busy enough to wait 20 minutes for 2 biscuits. The egg and cheese was soft and fresh but had no flavor (even some salt and pepper would have gone a long way). The sausage biscuit with egg was not a patty but almost like kielbasa, VERY salty. The staff was friendly. They need a better system for giving people takeout, as we had to stand between tables of people who were sitting and eating.

This restaurant was fantastic, and the service truly stood out! Despite experiencing some technical difficulties, the staff went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. I would rate it a solid 10/10 and as a happy traveler, I would certainly come back!

The food was definitely delicious, but I felt the prices were a little steep for my taste (waffles averaging around $6.00 to $11.00). They have a wide variety of waffle combinations as well as biscuit combos to choose from. The waffles were light and fluffy, with a pleasant flavor in the batter. You order at the register, and your meal will be brought to your table once it's ready. It's a great spot for a quick bite if you're in a hurry. Overall, this place offers a unique dining experience with friendly, efficient service.

Everything on the menu is gluten-free. [Fist pump] That was my reaction as well! This place is fantastic! I have no idea how they make their gluten-free biscuits, but they are surprisingly delicious. They also have an excellent coffee roast and freshly squeezed orange juice. I highly recommend the Beaut, which comes with an egg, bacon, cheese, avocado, and hot sauce on a biscuit. We didn't try the waffles, but the biscuits definitely inspire confidence. As of August 2021, you'll need to place your order on your phone outside and enjoy your meal at a sidewalk table.
