Around in Richmond ,there is so much Japanese Restaurants on every street ,malls , good one and terrible one too ,I come across to this restaurant during my business meeting , ,surprised the Sashimi is very fresh and delicious ,not frozen! they do live up to the Tsukiji fish markets name in Japan, FRESH !,the robata cook perfect ,hot, the price is not cheap ,is very high end ,but the Quality of the foods is worth it , but the portion is very small , and very noisy ,and they only open for dinner ,the service is average ,tea cup never empty , ,unfortunately ,the parking is so difficult to find , ,that is the only down side I will not coming back !
Came for a celebration and was very impressed with the quality of food! Not your typical run of the mill Japanese restaurant with rolls. Their servings and presentation was quite beautiful. What stood out - baked oysters with seafood - tasty and baked well; baked seafood type of a curd - when you cut into this soft curd the mixed chopped seafood was delicious ! Their raw plate of salmon, tuna was fresh ! The fish soup based noodle soup was refreshing !The ambience was perfect - we sat towards the back of the restaurant and it has its own feel of private room so it was perfect for chatting and catching up. The front of the restaurant had the traditional sunken take your shoes off dining experience. Come early, make a reservation but fight for your parking spot ! Other than that - food was delicious and light !
Today was definitely not our best day for finding parking. We had difficulties for lunch at the Continental Seafood restaurant and just about the same experience for dinner at this restaurant, even though the parking area is really quite big - I guess everybody was eating out for the Chinese New Year festivities. At a first glance, this Japanese restaurant, run by Chinese, looks really quite nice with plenty of wood elements and Japanese painting decorations. Unfortunately we were seated in a back room with a large group of about 10 noisy diners and the owner lady? was herself quite noisy and excited as well. With time, the entire room was full which at least distributed the noise a bit more evenly. The service was overburdened and slow, and so was the kitchen. Food: we had various rolls and some were quite good, unfortunately some were of these typical Vancouver monster sizes that you cannot put into the mouth in one go and also have difficulties biting off with the stringy nori layer inside. Overall: this could be a nice place to come to, but the noise, slow service and horrible parking situation will probably stop us from coming back, or at least we will try coming on a hopefully less busy day.
Family of 4 with 11yrs and 13yrs went for dinner.I am from Kyushyu Japan. We love their sashimi, sushi, yakitori, all the dishes we ordered! They have good selection of food, and their quality food is Not compromised. Even for Sashimi/sushi(raw fish) is fresh and tasty. We were surprised that they even serve "basashi". I loved it!also, they have many selection of Japanese Sake.most important, the servers are very nice too.it may be little expensive, but this is hidden gem.
