Sportstown Tavern - Richmond

I visited the restaurant the other day and it appears that the building has been demolished. I am not sure what kind of new building is going up in its place, or if the restaurant will be a part of it.

This restaurant has been my go-to spot for lunch for the past 10 years, and I absolutely love it. They have 8 large TVs playing all sports, a fantastic staff, and an amazing lunch menu. The menu was updated a year ago, and I have tried almost everything on it. The food is always fresh and delicious, with daily specials available as well. Glen runs a wonderful operation, and I highly recommend stopping by for a meal. Sabrina, Lonny, and Amanda are fantastic and always greet you with a smile. In the summer, you can enjoy dining on the terrace overlooking the pool and the North Shore mountains - pure bliss.

I was extremely hungry while waiting for a friend, so I decided to eat at this tavern. The decor of the tavern had a modern swashbuckling pirate theme, with staff dressed accordingly. While the theatricality was entertaining, the food fell short of expectations. I ordered a quesadilla, Caesar salad, soup, and calamari. Unfortunately, the Caesar salad and quesadilla were soggy and tasted like they were reheated in a microwave. The server didn't offer any explanation or apology. The calamari was greasy and I had to ask for extra napkins to soak up the excess oil. I ate the soup out of desperation. This dining experience left a lasting negative impression on me. It seemed like the kitchen staff had no experience or care for the quality of the food. It was a disappointing meal that I will not soon forget.

Always fresh and tastes great. Daily specials too.Glen runs a great operation and I thoroughly advise you to stop by for a bite. Sabrina, Sam and Amanda are awesome and always full of smiles.Summertime here on the patio with a view of the pool and the North Shore mountains....perfect
