I was here with a friend for lunch on a weekend and it was busy. The food came out fast regardless and was very good and reasonably priced. Don't sit by the window even with the shades are down, we were seating!

Old Buddies is an excellent place for a genuine Chinese lunch with many great dishes, handmade by a chef and kitchen staff who care. Try the shrimp dumplings in soup or with noodles; the wanton in soup on with noodles they are the best...of any restaurant in Vancouver, which is saying something. Lunch prices are reasonable, serving sizes are generous, and the staff is friendly and efficient. The evening menu changes over to lots of great seafood dishes, all prepared with the freshest ingredients and real attention to detail. Try the crab or lobster, you will not be disappointed, some of the best Chinese seafood in Vancouver! The evening menu is moderately priced, but good value considering all the seafood is kept fresh in the kitchen or in tanks prior to preparation for you. The crowd here is definitely local, but don't worry, the servers are more than happy to translate and assist diners with explanations of unfamiliar dishes and the different preparation styles available for seafood. Very family-friendly, lots of families and old buddies gather here for great meals.
