Free Bird Table - Richmond

We absolutely enjoyed our experience at Free Bird! During our visit to Vancouver before our cruise, we dined there twice. We were particularly taken with the smoked Manhattans. The BBQ is outstanding, and that's saying a lot coming from a family that knows southern BBQ well, being from Atlanta, Georgia! The food, drinks, and atmosphere were all fantastic! We highly recommend Free Bird.

The atmosphere is pleasant, and they have some delicious dishes on the menu. A must-try is their shrimp and grits. There's also plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy during the summer!

The sandwich was huge. The batter was full of flavor, but the chicken breast itself was a bit lacking in taste and too oily for my liking. The service was good. Overall, it was a decent experience.

The service is really good, a group of happy people asking all the time if you are doing well. The food is average. The fries are good!

My wife and I returned from Vancouver a few weeks ago after spending a week visiting our son. We lunched and suppered at a different restaurant each day and, without question, the best taste experience was Free Bird Table and Bar. A totally unpretentious setting and atmosphere just adds to a menu both unique and crazy delicious. My wife and I had the Blackened Halibut and it was the best halibut we’ve ever had. It’s accompanied by a delicious mix of succotash, chimichurri, and chicharron. A perfectly moist and blackened fish with a spicy side, without being pepper-hot, that goes perfectly with the fish. We ordered a side of fries and they were crispy, large, plentiful and hot. Our son had the buttermilk braised chicken with buttery light waffles (a nice southern touch and slaw (he’s not a big veggie guy so I had the extreme pleasure of eating that…made in-house without added sugar. Another nice feature is the restaurant’s large and well-stocked bar that had plenty of Red Truck (a local lager unknown out east on tap. The best ‘happy food’ experience we’ve ever had.
