La Fleur de Lys - Richelieu

When we are in France, we make a special effort to go to La Fleur de Lys for lunches and teas. They serve good Dammann tea (not bags), good lunches (mainly gallettes), and scrumptious desserts. The little pug sisters can be hilarious in their play,...but are never annoying. It appears to be a family affair grandmother, mother, and young man who does most of the work and they are hospitable and attentive. They also have a shop full of antiques silver, china, odds and ends as well as tea, spices, etc. in bulk. We have been there as a couple, with family and small child, and with grown up friends three times in the last two months while we are staying in Chinon. Best place in the area.

Salon de thé et dispensaire d'antiquités plutôt que restaurant, autant par sa devanture surprenante que son aménagement hétéroclite et le peu de tables disponibles (réservation très conseillée), la Fleur de Lys est peut-être le dernier endroit de Richelieu où l'on puisse espérer trouver de la bonne cuisine. Et pourtant ! Les plats servis sont simples mais exécutés avec soin : crème de légumes de saison, oeuf cocotte persillé, galettes aux garnitures variées, crêpes, tartes... On ne demande pas plus, et cela nous parait très largement supérieur à une offre plus riche mais plus passablement réalisée. Pour accompagner, une grande sélection de thés et de vins de qualité est disponible.Les prix très abordables, le personnel sympathique et chaleureux, l'ambiance confortable (très old-school, d'où le nom de l'établissement) ont fait de ce séjour un moment inoubliable.

Beautiful ambiente for a hot drink and a crepe; the Chocolat-Chaud was a meal in itself. warm reception and magnificent surroundings. a visit worth when in richelieu

Sweet! everything about this place is sweet. we went to richelieu mainly to breakfast in la fleur de lys we were not disappointed. the shop is beautiful and full of wonder. eating is nice. the owner was very helpful and the French...Bulldogs were lovely.

We had a great time the menu is simply perfect with the salted crepes and amazing cakes!!! Moreover, the place is as charming in the inner as well as outside in the terrace. jean philippe greeted us with much courtesy and it was a pleasure. Talk to him. this is definitely recommended an address and we will return safely there.
