Contribuiți la feedbackI had this really tasty aubergine dish. the sauce was complex and tasty and they made it sharp on my question. on the menu they show which dishes can be made vegan. my court was bagara baigan. the other dish (also vegan) was sabzi bhaji.
I visited this restaurant twice, once at a busy weekend and once at a slower week night. I had not ordered from this restaurant as it moved from an earlier location directly south of the village. I had not eaten at the new place right in the heart of the village rheinbeck. this restaurant currently offers many products that are vegan or can be made vegan on request! there are problems with conflicts between the printed menus available in the restaurant, the menu on the website (https cinnamoncuisine.com/cinnamon-indian-food-cuisine-rhinebeck-newyork
We have a reservation at cinnamon for a date night, and it was not disappointed. the ambiente is very cozy, soft and romantic. the menu has clearly called vegan options, and we had a difficult time choice! the waiting period was quite long (about 45 minutes between ordering and arrival of our participants,) but they were quite busy. eating was fantastic, and there was no rest! warning: the chai has milk in it by default and cannot be ordered simply. this is not shown on the menu, and we only found it after arriving at our table. the server apologised and took him back, but they still let us pay for it!
I mostly agree with the other reviewers and don't have a lot to add: lots of vegan options, not cheap (you're in downtown Rhinebeck, though; look around) and helpful staff. The thing that struck me about the place was that they incorporated regional dishes not often seen in the US into the menu. Most US food is a version of Punjab, or if you're lucky, south Asian hotel food (sambar, dosai, etc). There were flavours and combinations here from other parts of India.
I had this really, really delicious eggplant dish. The sauce was complex and tasty and they made it spicy at my request. On the menu they indicate which dishes could be made vegan. My dish was Bagara Baigan. The other dish pictured (also vegan) was Sabzi Bhaji.
