Joining up with others who had arrived a bit before us and then eaten with them one night at this location it got me wondering why they had chosen to eat here every single night of their four night stay, it wasn’t THAT good? Then exploration into town on a Saturday night gave me the answer... other than the take-away this is the only place in town! Hundreds of skaters and their family’s and only one place to sit down and eat.... good on you Zur Kaiserau and good on the staff that worked tirelessly to keep the hordes fed and watered, you deserve to make a killing! A very busy night meant a small wait but we were sat quickly and table cleared once we sat. Crowd control could have aided the usual queue jumping ignorance but that’s not entirely down to the restaurant staff. Aside from that the food is decent and reasonably priced, a Margarita €6.50 and a Porchini Pizza £9.50 were not bad, the latter quality worth the extra few euro. Beer good and not bad value, €5 for 50cl. Lots of other choice so you won’t be hungry or stuck for choice. Menu tailored entirely for Italian and German speakers, an English version might be a good idea if only for when events are on that attract more than the usual local crowd. Would I go again? Not much choice for dinner in January it seems.
We visited Collalbo for our son's participation in the World Jr. Speed Skating Championships and dined at Kaiserau several times during our visit. We tried many of the items on the menu and most favored the lovely, generous-sized, wood-fired pizzas, as well as the excellent schnitzel. Irene and her husband are a young couple who run this eatery (which caters mostly to the locals) with warmth and efficiency. Getting to know them was a highlight of our visit to the area and a very tasty one at that! The place was packed most of the nights we were there for dinner. I give the Kaiserau a high recommendation!
Came for the pizza (it was good), left after we ate and enjoyed the friendly service. we didn't try any of the other food, but it looked nice from what we saw
Ci siamo trovati in questo ristorante x caso durante la nostra vacanza in Trentino.Locale informale, personale gentile.Buono i piatti, senza troppe pretese.
