Los Compadres - Reno

Chips and salsa hit the table very quickly with both hot and mild salsas. However, the chips are cold and were clearly made some time well in the past. Service was prompt although sporadic. I had the Bistek Ranchero. On the plus side, they do not overdo the peppers and onions which is a plus. There is also a decent amount of meat. That said, the meat was fairly tough and there was just way too much fat and gristle. About 20% one bite out of every five was a lump of fat or a piece of meat with way too much gristle. Were I to return, I would definitely get something else. Everything else on the menu seemed to be pretty standard fare. And you can never go wrong with grilled chicken fajitas. So my three stars is right in the middle, until further exploration. (I try to be reasonable. An observation: this little upscale shopping center seems to invite a pampered, mildly obnoxious, elitist crowd. I certainly don't penalize the restaurant for this but you may want to consider the clientele if you're planning a nice evening and the tables to your right and left have little Kaitlyn's waxing on about their high school AP assignment, middle aged ladies gossiping over cocktails, and preppy dudes trying to out do one another on the subjects of golf and finance. Apparently, the country club restaurant is closed tonight. Not my cup of tea.

Had a nice dinner. I had enchiladas and my wife had a salad.

Ordered nachos for pick up. Sad excuse of food. Melted cheese on a conveyer belt in a pan with a bag of chips o the side is a joke. Manager couldn’t give me my money back. Threatened me too never come here

I order one dish to take out weekly at Los Compadres and always gave them a generous 15% tip as if it was dine in. Last time I was waiting there, I asked two girls in front if I can have the restaurant's guest wifi password because my data ran out. They lied to me twice: First they told me that they did not have any; but when I told them my cell showed there were TWO public wifi they had, they lie to me again that their manager did not allow them to give it out. What? I have been a regular customer for over one year. So if I sit down to dine, will the waiter give me wifi pass word? It seems so petty minded, especially when I tip them for take out order.
