Famous Dave's -b-que - Reno

I just had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant! We were fortunate to have Lyndsey as our server, and she was absolutely fantastic! She made sure we had everything we needed and was a pleasure to chat with. We started with the burnt ends as an appetizer, and they were exceptionally good! For our main course, we both ordered the BBQ salad, which was generously portioned and delicious. The cornbread muffins here are amazing! We will definitely be returning and hoping that Lyndsey will be our server again!

The food was decent, but honestly, nothing extraordinary. I've had better barbecue elsewhere. On the positive side, the customer service was excellent; our server was friendly and attentive. The ambiance inside the restaurant was also quite pleasant.

We’d rate the food a solid 3.5 and our waitress a perfect 5. She was fantastic! We were in town for a basketball game and craving some BBQ. Unfortunately, the food was just average—nothing really stood out as exceptional. It wasn’t bad, but it didn’t impress either. I really enjoyed the fries, but the brisket was very fatty. I wanted to be blown away, but it just didn’t happen. If you’re in town during happy hour, it’s definitely worth a visit. I’d come back if I found myself in Reno and wanted BBQ again. I was also hoping for some mac and cheese, but I’m picky and theirs had corn and jalapeños, which was an odd combination for me. I could have managed the jalapeños, but the corn felt out of place. Overall, I think most people would enjoy their food!

If you swipe through the reviews that I post, you will find that I enjoy experiencing a myriad of food selections from all over Reno and from various ethnic cuisines. Despite my love for ALL things pertaining to FOOD, at heart, I am a Southern Gentleman(New Orleans born and raised so I never pass up an opportunity to try something which reminds me of my Southern roots. I havehad the opportunity to sample a FEW BBQ joints around Reno since relocating here (my 1 year anniversary was March 31, 2022???????? and I have to say I have been pleasantly surprised by my findings... But! Imagine, if you will, my shock andamazement to find out that one of my absolute long time FAVORITE barbecue sauces actually has a full blown brick and mortar herein my newfound home! For YEARS I have not only enjoyed the savory selections of sauces Famous Dave's has concocted, but I havealways found it both hilarious and a testament to how serious one has to be about their BBQ standing above the rest to have theconsumed product of said brand have an ACTUAL pig as its Chef /Pitmaster/mascot on the logo AND have that ???? ???? ???? a ????????????????????. GENIUS!!!! The GOOD: the staff (though short-staffed for obvious reasons was amazing, Very, VERYprofessional, attentive, friendly and welcoming (in spite of some grumbling from a couple patrons . The decor and theme of thesetting set the tone and vibe which was relaxed and casual. The sauces... FILL ME UP SHOT GLASSES and keep em coming!!!! TheBAD (in my humble opinion : the food arrived and though visually pleasing it was, however, very luke warm. The ribs were a bittough and almost seemed microwaved, and the rib tips were also a bit rough to really enjoy them, unfortunately. A bit deflated(because I hyped MYSELF up because of that doggone ???????????? a ???? I finished off as much as my meal as was respectful andtook my leave. From the other reviews I read prior to heading in myself, I suspect it was just a bad day,
