Pepper beef was a large part with large spices and delicate slices of meat. Much beef. Had the clay pot with mushrooms and rice noodles. It was very good for mushroom lovers. The only thing that was not too impressive was the appetizer platter it was fundamental. But everything else was great over bar Chinese food! Would go back. In any case recommend the chair and the jacket. For two persons, the above mentioned dishes and two bottles of hand $170
I chose this restaurant for my birthday. I was disappointed? the real disappointment is served by the obvious discrepancy between the price and quality of food. I pay $40-50 for a court worth $40-50, but only a court lived here up to the cost. Order: 1 $18 calamari? Appetizer 1 $32 prawn? with Vermicelli and Garlic 2 $40 cut duck? with shrimp, chicken, pork and green 3 $22 orange blossom chicken? (the only dish that is worth it? Service: need improvement! The person we sat was polite and welcoming. But our server always seemed like she had no time for us. If she clears dishes, she would somehow reach us in a way that interrupts the meal and takes plates too soon. She also did not seem interested in discussing the menu. If it's just so busy, they should rent more servers. Our waters were filled quickly, but it never felt friendly. But the guy who brought our tea was nice. Compared to other Peppermill restaurants, this was the worst service. Atmosphere: cigarette beaten? Smoke, but well decorated. The tables also feel a little big for the round stands, so you don't get much back space. Appetizer: The Calamari was small, dry and not up to a part desired for the cost. This was $12 max, not $18. The dipping sauces were nice. Entrees: The Prawn ? with Vermicelli was tasty, but it was really just a few thin rice noodles with garlic and about 7-8 yarns (lightly larger shrimps). Underwhelming court worth $22, not $32. The cut duck? The duck was 4-5 dark, fat slices of meat I needed to cut a knife. They were among 3 shrimps, some cut pork and chicken pieces and zucchini and baby bok choi. Here too, these were not large crispy slices of spiced duck, but were wet and softened on the bottom of the plate with engraving. The presentation was uninspiring. It wasn't $40. It was a $30 court. The orange? Blossom? Huh? was the best article we ordered. This was the only court that held the rating of 2 stars. This dish comes with about 8-10 huge pieces of baked chicken (they were decent cuts, but the sauce is brilliant?! I thought it had good spices, a beautiful body, just a touch of sweet, and was perfect with white rice. This court was worth the $22 we paid for. I recommend this dish for anyone who likes chicken and a little spice? It is regrettable that the court that just gave a bunch of meat, the value was winner tonight. I would like to eat dishes with more complexity in presentation and taste, but Chi did not really deliver. I can honestly say I won't be back for a while.
Came to Peppermill for our 30. Jubilee and the first two restaurants had waited over 1 hour! Did Hot August Nites start? So we tried Chi! Great Bartender (Casey) recommended 2 excellent cocktails with homemade products. We liked each plate pictured below. I really liked the seafood, chicken and pig comb. My wife's favorite was Mongolian beef. Also had the hot and sour soup that was notched above. In any case comes back and try some other parts of the menu. But I expect me to have the soup and a cocktail again. Great service from Linda in the restaurant. The only reason I got four stars is as if over $50 a person for Chinese food is a little expensive.
We love Peppermill Reno?s Chi Restaurant. We've been here for over ten years. The food is spectacular and the staff is wonderful. The manager Patrick is always gracious to us. Coming here is always a highlight of our trip.
Let's start with the great. The service was fantastic. Our waitress Sierra was polite attentive and very knowledgeable of the entire menu. When the food arrived we were also mightily impressed nicely prepared and very flavorful. The two stars came as a result of the horrendous air that was circulating around that restaurant. Being that this restaurant is in a casino you have a massive amount of smokers and that smoke was periodically wafting into the restaurant causing me to break out into coughing fits. I urge management/ownership at the peppermill to seal that front off somehow because it absolutely ruins the dinning experience. That's why despite all the positives of this place I will never come back. Please fix it.
