Bangkok Cuisine - Reno

This restaurant has a wide variety of vegan options clearly labeled on the menu, definitely deserving of 5 stars! From curry and soups to noodles, rice, appetizers, and dessert, you can't go wrong with anything you order here. I once called in while driving and the hostess was extremely helpful in assisting me with ordering a noodle dish, even though I forgot the name. She was very knowledgeable about which items were vegan and which were not in the restaurant.

Ever since the South Virginia location closed down, I have noticed a decrease in food quality at this restaurant. During my last visit, I ordered pad thai with tofu, without fish sauce or eggs, and requested it to be vegan. Unfortunately, the dish tasted overly sweet and unpleasant. After sending it back and having it remade, the second attempt was just as bad. The third plate tasted slightly different, but still not what I had expected based on past experiences. The server mentioned that there was confusion with the chef, who mistakenly thought that vegan meant no sugar, although I had only specified no eggs or fish sauce. After multiple disappointing experiences, I have since ordered takeout twice and each time the pad thai has been prepared incorrectly. I am no longer willing to spend money at this restaurant when there are other Thai options in Reno that understand dietary preferences better.

When dining at this restaurant, be sure to inquire about their vegan options as they are accommodating. The pumpkin curry dish is incredibly tasty and definitely worth trying.

My favorite dish here is the Bean Thread Salad (Yum Woen Sein), but if you're vegan or vegetarian, ask them to substitute fried tofu in place of the meat. I've ordered it this way twice, and though the servers questioned it both times (fried tofu is not listed as an option on the menu for this dish though it definitely should be), they were able to accommodate me both times. It was so, so good! I only wished I lived in Reno so I could visit this restaurant frequently I swear I would order this dish every single time!
