The Pond Grill - REHOBOTH BEACH

The food is fantastic, but a bit on the expensive side. The TVs are too small, and it tends to get crowded, making it hard for me to enjoy watching football. However, it's conveniently located near my house.

The moment I entered this laid-back bar and grill, I felt comfortable and welcomed. I chose to sit at the bar, where my server, Sam, was attentive while also giving me the space to consider the menu at my own pace. After a friendly chat with him, I decided to try the Reuben, and it was incredible! It practically melted in my mouth. Everything was served piping hot and fresh. Whether you’re a local or just visiting the beach, I highly recommend checking out The Pond.

The drinks were enjoyable, and the waitstaff was friendly. However, I experienced a very long wait time in an empty bar, and the waitress didn't acknowledge it at all. There was no explanation, apology, or recognition of the delay. Overall, I found this to be a terrible place for food. I would recommend steering clear! The mussels were tiny and not worth the price.

The decor is inviting, featuring spacious wooden booths and comfortable seating, making it ideal for a night out with friends or a date night. The staff were enthusiastic and well-informed about the menu and the drink offerings, which are extensive and would take multiple visits to explore fully. What truly impressed me was the food. Although the menu may initially appear to offer standard bar fare, there’s a noticeable level of thought and care put into the dishes. We tried the fried pickles and were amazed by the perfectly crisp batter and the fresh taste of this Southern favorite—definitely the best fried pickles I’ve ever had. The mussels were also a highlight, cooked to perfection in a garlic butter sauce with just a hint of rosemary. The main courses were well-portioned—satisfying without being overwhelming. I appreciated that I could enjoy both my appetizer and my main dish without leaving feeling overstuffed or needing to take home a bunch of leftovers. I’m already planning my return visit and look forward to bringing along some friends!

I visited this restaurant with my girlfriend, and we absolutely loved the food! Our waitress, Kathleen, went above and beyond to enhance our experience. We both ordered the short rib grilled cheese sandwiches, which were fantastic! Kathleen even convinced the chef to add a layer of mac and cheese to my sandwich, making it the best sandwich I’ve ever had. We will definitely be returning to this spot next year. Kudos to the staff for their exceptional service!
