Woodhaven House - Rego Park

We tried to eat Lennie in London a few days ago, but when we arrived, they had already closed the kitchen. When we left, we saw this place and decided to give them a shot. As always, I had to try the Caesar salad. I have to be honest when we went to this place, I was a little unwilling. It was a gamble, but if the Caesar salad, and our server of the fantastic Irish accent were all signs of what was coming, we were the right direction!

My partner and I attempted to dine at Lennie in London the other day, only to find that the kitchen had already closed upon our arrival. Disappointed, we stumbled upon this restaurant as we left and decided to give it a try. Skeptical at first, I ordered the Caesar salad as usual. I must admit, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the dish and the warmth of our server's fantastic Irish accent. If the salad and our server were any indication of what was to come, we were headed in the right direction!

Great food in a new old place.. The first thing you see at the place is the old looking real wood cladding. The place looks like your mother ate a father here. After eating the food, I think the cooked for them. It's so good and wasn't her first rodeo. We came from a funeral, so times were not the best. Now about 30 of us were at the party. This place has handled it as if they do it all the time and maybe they do it. My food was hot when I got it and all around me. We enjoyed a solid menu of apps, salad, duck and dessert. The salad was crunchy and fresh and the dressing was also made house. Both my steak and my wife were perfectly cooked, mine was rare and the woman was good. And the other diners. I didn't hear anyone in our group. The dessert was also very tasty and probably ruined my diet, but oh well. It was worth it. I have to take my hat to the staff at Woodhaven House to turn an annoying time into a glamorous moment. Thank you.

Woodhaven House on Woodhaven Boulevard in the heart of Queens is a restaurant that exudes the ambiance of an old-fashioned steak house. You can just picture the well-to-do clientele, taking a break from their busy schedules to enjoy a meal between the office and the Ivy club. The interior is elegantly decorated with dark woods, alabaster, and frosted cut glass, giving off a classic and upscale vibe. It's a place where you can almost imagine vintage Packards pulling up outside, with top-hat wearing men in tuxedos stepping out.

AWSOME service, yummy food, and great prices! Pictures are the bacon wrapped scallops *drool* and an arugula salad that came with balsamic, walnuts, and warm goat cheese (not pictured because it was on the side due to an allergy of someone who was sharing the dish)
