Contribuiți la feedbackLoved the food people very nice and pacient and I'm berry picky I also hate veggies but loved the chicken and meat empanadas
Wrapper is light and not heavy which I like. The filling tasted very strongly of olive so if that isn't your thing then you won't like the classic beef ones. It has ground beef, boiled egg, and olives. Overall it was okay, I would have preferred it come with more stuffing for the money.
I ordered a couple empanada's and bottle of water in the afternoon after coming from the park. Took the person at the register a long time to get my water and I could see them going back and forth in the kitchen. I was clearly a bit dehydrated but they seemed to not care. Unfortunately when I took down a seat to sit after getting my food I bit into them after 3 bites I could tell the middle was cold, almost ice cold. I thought I must be imagining things. I took them to the counter and she thanked me for the feedback and without a word took them and walked back into the kitchen. I waited a while and she came back explaining that the oven was not up high enough. Weird I thought ovens usually cook evenly for food like this? Anyway she gave me my old empanada's plus two more of the same kind I ordered. I sat back down and ripped the new empanada's down the middle and bit into them. They were both cold/room temperature down the middle. I left disappointed but hungry and ended up microwaving them at home. I ended up getting sick a day or two later with a sore throat for about 4-5 days. I would be wary of this place since they seem to have suspect quality control over their food that may lead to food illness. I really wanted to like this place since I read good reviews but maybe I didn't read the warning signs walking in...
My family friends previously ordered Bolivian Saltenas (different than an empanada same idea but there are distinct differences) from Nuri 's Donut House in Redeood City, which has sadly closed. My husband I saw the delivery car for Empanada King on the freeway. We called the and it went straight to VM at 1pm on a Saturday so when we stopped I tried to order online. After plugging in our order, the earliest order time was Monday at 11am. Oh well. I did message them about pricing for Staff Appreciation week at my daughter 's school 60 on staff so it would been a good size order for them. Someone messaged back several days later apologizing for the delay said that she wasn 't receiving message notifications in a timely manner. No big deal. I figured I would be the guinea pig order for my family to see how it was before feeding the teachers staff. Fast forward a week or 2 and I decided to see if I could place an order. I was pleasantly surprised that it gave the the option to select ASAP or schedule a future delivery. I ordered 6 Bolivian Saltenas,Argentinian Empanadas and 2 dessert empanadas $59.94. I live 10 miles away so I got in the car needed to stop for gas. While I was filling up, my phone rang it was a kind woman from Empanda King asking if I was coming. I said, yes, I am leaving right now, I should be there in 15 minutes. The lady said, ok because we closed at 4. I apologized told her Inhad no idea because I placed the online order at 4 the system allowed it. They could have called and told me they couldn 't fill the order because they were closing. Few live close to their location as they are in a heavily industrial neighborhood with auto body shops and warehouses so that needs to be taken into consideration. I arrived at 3:30 and a man came out. I immediately said, I am so sorry, I didn 't realize you closed at 4 we live 15 minutes he cut me off and said, one time! never again! as he shook his finger at me. I couldn 't BELIEVE I was being scolded like a child. SO, SO rude. Now on to the food...my husband was born raised in Bolivia so we know what an authentic saltena is. Their saltenas were flavorful and cooked perfectly but true Saltenas are very juicy, with chunky meat, potatoes, hard boiled eggs kalmatta olives. Theirs were made with ground beef and it was more of a paste consistency. The dessert empanada were fantastic and the spicy beef Argentinian empanadas were not considered spicy by the recipient. So food was fantastic but I really can 't get by the rudeness of what I think was an owner. Looking at the other reviews, it sounds like others have been the recipient of his unpleasantness.
Burnt empanadas. Completely mortified that any business would think that it's ok to serve customers, who pay them money, this kind of s Back in my home country of Japan, they would've gone bankrupt within a week of opening. Absolutely shocked at the non-existent standards of food this business has, and the blatant lack of respect and responsibility to their customers, no less.
