Contribuiți la feedbackSo, yah. Some great food here but before you go, you should know this. Its fixed price for app, entree and dessert. Maybe not a big deal for most but not worth it for light eaters. We had a few really delicious plates including the gnocchi w shaved black truffle, Chesapeake soft shelled crab, and lobster. Also had the pork chop but turned out to be way too salty. They offered to redo it which was nice but they brought some madeira wine instead to make up for it. They brought us a nice anniversary surprise dessert and then the two desserts we ordered. It was good but ended up being way too much food for us. So bottom line, good food but way too much food for us.
The ambience is dark and classy, modern. There 's two levels of seating, including a cool looking banquet room upstairs, and a very social and fun-looking bar area. The service was responsive, pleasant, and not overbearing. The martinis are excellent. The food was delicious and the portions were just the right size. We ordered the special starter this gnochi-like dumpling in butters sauce, so good! , the green salad, chicken under a brick, the striped bass, and for dessert, the croullers and the chocolate cake. We are transitioning away from a diet of mammals, so no streak. And I have this weird soft spot for ducks, so I never order duck. Although, the steaks and duck dishes sounded good. So why four stars? It 's the pricing. It kind of annoyed me that it 's offered as a prix fixe menu $78/person , but almost every item has a 'supplemental ' charge. So.... then... it 's not prix fixe. It 's basically a menu restaurant with a $78/person cover charge. To be clear, I don 't take issue with the cost of the meal, necessarily. I am annoyed with how it 's being presented. This is a fantastic fancy dinner date spot.

We enjoyed every dish we ordered from Selby during our visit with family. We would definitely order from them again. Our choices included halibut, grilled Bavette steak au poivre, salmon, and roasted cauliflower steak. Our only regret was not saving room to try at least one dessert!
I will never go back to this restaurant again. The steak was overcooked on the outside, undercooked on the inside, lacked flavor, and the meat was tough and stringy. And to top it off, they didn't even include baby carrots for a $100 meal! The food also arrived an hour late and was cold.
