Vida Modern Mexican Tequila

Took a first timer. She loved it! The El Salud Margarita was a great way to start the night! I love the salsa. Smoky but not too spicy. I had a chicken, Tinga taco and a Hongos taco. Both were excellent, both in taste and presentation.  The weather last night was in the high 40s. My only suggestion is when person books a table inside to compensate for the chili weather, the restaurant consider closing the large windows to the patio. Even though technically we were ‘inside’ we were still right next to the open area. The hostess was very kind of provided us with blankets for our laps but we still needed jackets.

We sat outside and although it was very cold, they set up heaters for us. Ambiance was great overall. The food however, was very salty. Everyone’s tacos were extremely salty. Especially the Al pastor with pineapple tacos.

Nice atmosphere, Baja shrimp burrito was very good, beer was expensive.

The food is really good. The service today was not as good as the first time I was there.

I first came here around spring time and it’s one of my favorite spots to come to for food and drinks. I have brought all my friends and family here and they have all loved it. I have NEVER had a bad server. They are always so sweet and attentive. The service is like the Trader Joe’s/Nordstroms of restaurants. Lol. I had the chili verde the first time I came and it was delicious. The second time, I tried the chimichanga and I get it every time now as my entree (it’s an appetizer). The queso fundido is delicious and the mushroom quesadilla. I always want to try something new for my entree, but I’m a creature of habit. I know my friend’s/family have loved the ahi tacos, surf and turf burrito, fish tempura tacos, and birria tacos. My favorite drink is the El Mulo. So delicious and refreshing. I’d say it’s my favorite drink out of all the restaurants I’ve been to. I love that the food and drinks taste the same every time, especially the drinks. I feel like other places can taste different depending on who makes it; not here. It tastes delicious every time, like the first time. I am a forever customer.
