Barron's Bistro - Redlynch

We've been here for Father's Day, a party of three adults and two children. The food was good and the location was conveniently past with the addition of the Kuranda train.

A wonderfully modest and inexpensive restaurant in Freshwater to Kuranda Train Station with a wide selection on the menu and very friendly staff. I recommend a meal in one of the old train cars air conditioned Big Breaky a real...Meal! Yes! You have smoothed some bumps that were part of a start, but it's all good now As a customer since the opening I was happy to get them together and enjoy the diversity.

Came here for a nice relaxing weekend Brekkie, and while the staff are very friendly, the food is not worth the price. My Missus added her breakfast grilled mushrooms and for $3, got *one* slice of *one* big mushroom. If you go to Coles... and notice that portobello mushrooms sell for $12 a kilo, which means a food brand-up in the 1,000s of percent. Not impressed he's not back.

I have tried this restaurant several times and each time they have failed to meet expectations. The staff seems indifferent and the food is often disappointing. Breakfast should be a simple menu to get right, but there are always mistakes, whether it be with the coffee, eggs, or missing items from the dish. We only return about twice a year to support a local business, but...

We had been eager to visit this restaurant for some time and were thrilled when we finally had the chance. It was unique and fun to have to step over two rail carriages to reach the covered courtyard. Despite there not being many people there, we found it to be a bonus as the service, ambiance, and food were excellent. We were pleased with our dishes and found the portions to be generous.
