If you are not a cyclist, this cafe does not welcome you and will make it clear you are not wanted. There is no signage, but it seems that tables are saved for cyclists only, even though they were nowhere to be seen. The staff took our orders but insisted we move from an unreserved table and even expected us to eat standing up. When we refused, they attempted to take away our plates before we had finished our meals. This was an unprecedented experience for us and we will definitely not be returning due to this poor treatment. The food was mediocre at best.
I had lunch at this restaurant with a colleague for a business meeting. My colleague enjoyed the vegetable stack she ordered, but I found my lamb halloumi burger difficult to eat as a traditional burger and had to use a knife and fork instead. The Turkish bread bun was too small for the fillings, over-toasted, and hard. The burger was served on a wooden board with the fillings already spilling out, and despite requesting no onion, it was included in the burger. However, as a dish on its own, it was quite tasty and the chips were well-cooked. I plan to try something different the next time I visit as the meals on other tables looked appealing.
The breakfast selection was hard to choose between which is a good problem to have. The coffee was good, there a good amount of seating inside out. Takeaway window setup also. If you haven’t tried it check it out
This cafe became my place to meet friends during my recent trip to this area. I came here because the coffee was excellent and the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable for chatting with friends. I tried the muffins and a salad with quiche they were fine.
