Sophellie's At Kirkleatham - Redcar

This is a fantastic little spot! There’s free parking and no entry fee for the museum. There's also a lovely small playground and café, making it perfect for families. A highlight was the Eulenzentrum, which was very affordable and definitely worth a visit. We enjoyed walking around the garden, and there’s also a superb supermarket café just a quick two-minute walk away.

An incredible place! We recently took a school trip here with 60 nine-year-old children, and it was fantastic. The staff, dressed as Anglo-Saxons, were very friendly and organized some wonderful activities for the kids. The museum was well-equipped, featuring impressive displays. Although I didn't have the chance to explore the walled gardens during the trip, I plan to visit them soon, along with an owl sanctuary nearby that I also missed. The playground was a hit with our group; the children absolutely loved it. I highly recommend this place!

We visited the restaurant for the amazing "Thrift Festival," and we had a wonderful day together—my 8-year-old was completely enthusiastic! We made jam, watched a puppet show, and enjoyed a performance about recycling. We spent the entire day exploring and enjoying the outdoors.

Free and in beautiful environment. a model of its kind as a small city museum.

Lovely day out. Raining but still a nice time. The walled garden was ridiculously expensive admission gor what it was, I wouldn't even say it was a spectacular garden. The owl centre was a good admission price, very clean and well ran with friendly staff. The animals all looked happy and well cared for. The museum itself was very busy and the lift is a little slow but really nice place. Some fantastic artworks on display. The museum also had peter rabbit and arts and crafts activities. Again lovely staff. We didn't do the trail/ walk as it just simply was too wet although a few still said it was lovely non the less.
