Country Kitchen - Red Oak

This used to be a more reliable and tastier place to eat, but after our last visit, we will not be returning. The service and cleanliness were lacking, with sticky dirty floors, flies everywhere, and grimy doors and windows covered in sticky handprints. We were left wondering about the state of the kitchen. I had to change my order due to a misunderstanding, but the waitress seemed annoyed and my second plate arrived half cold and incorrect. Save your money and find somewhere else to dine.

My wife and I used to love this place, and ate here almost weekly. Over the past year, however, both the service and food quality have declined precipitously. This morning we went in and—after seating ourselves because no waitstaff would acknowledge us—waited over ten minutes before getting a menu. It only went downhill from there. We were obliged to refill our own coffee multiple times. Our waitress responded “I don’t know” to any questions about the menu. Both our orders were wrong—repeatedly. The Mac n cheese (once we finally received it) tasted like someone had spilled soapy water in it. And when paying out, the cashier informed us after running our card that he had forgotten to add our drinks. He therefore handed us an additional $8 ticket for two coffees and an orange juice. We payed and left. We’ll never return.

If you're looking for homemade cooking, this is the place for you! There's a wide variety of options, including breakfast all day, and the food is consistently delicious. The grilled liver onions are a standout dish that I haven't found anywhere else. The staff is friendly, but I'm giving it 4 stars because it can get a bit warm, especially during busy hours.

We walked in and noticed the sign to take a seat. Unfortunately, most of the tables were dirty. This seems to be a common issue at many restaurants nowadays. The meal was decent and the service was good. We were hoping to try something new, but ended up regretting our decision soon after we arrived.

The service was somewhat slow, but acceptable. eating was good, not stellar, but not bad. the parts were big. I would try again.
