Thirsty Bear Pub Pizza - Reading

One of the best pizza places I was. The owner and the staff are very friendly and great company. Not only the menu, but also the drinks are well combined.

I love the pizzas of Thirsty Bear, especially the vegetarian with artichokes. The dough is very well made and the pizza has a generous amount of olive oil.

I visited with my God's son and his mother for an early dinner today. They were both before and enthusiastic about it and I am now a converter in this super pizza restaurant. We all had slices of pepper chocolate and I decided to be brave and go for two slices. WOW, the pizza base was amazing and it had a good size crust. To say that the toping would be generous an understatement! I fought to finish my two slices, but didn't want to leave anything because it was too delicious to waste. The waiting staff were fantastic, attentive, but not fussy and the cook was a pleasure. For the quality of pizzas, I thought the prices are very reasonable. These guys are Pizza Pros and I'm glad to visit them again. You make the offers of Dominoes and Pizza Hut look very moderate!

Table service, which is carried out by a very efficient bar service, is well served. The pizza here is really good and they are absolutely huge, but you can also buy from the slice. Good selection of drinks and sports on overhead panels.

The Thirsty Bear Pub is a refurbished venue on the outskirts of central Reading at the end of Kings Road. This place has bags of character. Spread over 3 floors there is the main ground floor as you enter, up the stairs to the middle floor which serves as an individual venue if required then up again to the roof top terrace which is a lovely little space out in the open air. Chatting to the landlord there are plans to try a DJ in the near future possibly using the entire middle floor. With a lot of potential this could well be an up and coming venue in Reading. Definitely worth checking out. Recommended.
