The Volunteer - Reading

I visited this restaurant to catch up with a friend, marking my first trip here in quite a while. The venue offers plenty of parking and features a spacious outdoor area that is perfect for warm days. While there isn’t a large grassy space for kids or dogs, I don’t think that should impact the overall rating. The outdoor seating is well-maintained and notably different from typical pub benches, which is a refreshing change. The outdoor area is kept tidy and relatively quiet, being set back from the road, making it easy to have a conversation. Inside, the decor is modern and the space is clean. The bar service was excellent; it wasn’t particularly crowded during my visit, so the staff were prompt and engaging with the regular patrons. As for parking, there’s convenient access off the main road at the back of the pub.
