The Highwayman - Reading

Atmosphere, chilled out,lovely staff ,great food and nice surroundings.

I chose The Highwayman restaurant with high hopes, only to be let down by the main dish. The steak was overcooked, the peppercorn sauce lacked any peppercorns and flavor. I had to request my chips, sauce, and a steak knife. When I voiced my concerns to the waiter, he was dismissive and avoided us for the rest of the evening. It seems like The Highwayman may be able to deliver good food when it's not too busy. The more crowded it gets, the lower the quality of the food and service.

Food is amazing and great value. Friendly staff and owner/chef .... need to book as very popular!
