Contribuiți la feedbackThe Peanut Bar has been operating at his location since 1935 and I can see why it has lasted. Great food, superb service and great character. Don't be put off by the windowless frontage, it is well work coming in and taking a seat at a table covered in a traditional checkered cloth and enjoying a mix of old style and modern dishes.
Awesome service and food. Jillian was our server....Schnitzel is incredible
Went to the Peanut Bar for my birthday celebration. The atmosphere is inviting (love the twinkle lights in the branches on the ceiling). The food was delicious. I had the crab cakes with broccoli and baked potato. The crab cake was cooked to perfection with a lemony hollandaise sauce, and the sides were excellent as well. It came with a good sized salad which was yummy, too. All in all, the meal was memorable and we will definitely return to the Peanut Bar!
One Warm Welcome...not from the area, found this place open on a Monday night. I had no idea of its history or anything about the place. A timeless feel to the interior, warm wood character 50s charm, I could feel this place had a lot of history but didn 't realize a Reading PA celebrated legend. The bartender/owner my Server we 're kind, accommodating and very informative...a slower night. Served up with their menu with a narrative on the history of the establishment in a nutshell . The menu offered a nice variety from Seafood, Italian, German, Steaks, Burgers and much more. Seems like a Hot Spot with plenty going on, warm vibes, great peeps good food to serve up for generations to come!
One of the best experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. We came for a graduation celebration and were greeted with custom menus with the graduate's name. Sabrina brought such a sense of joy and passion to our table, and her recommendations were spot on for every course. The food coming out of the kitchen was easily a bright star in the Reading area, with each dish coming out perfectly. From wiener schnitzel to seared ahi tuna, there was not a disappointing bite throughout the meal. Desserts were a perfect complement to our entrees, and the touch of having the graduate's name written in chocolate was the attention to detail you rarely see these days. It's very easy to see why this restaurant has been around for 98 years, and I wouldn't be surprised to see it around for another 98.
