Anthony's Trattoria - Reading

The food is consistently excellent and the service is always top-notch.

We visited for the first time and we’re already looking forward to returning! The restaurant has an older vibe, so don’t let the exterior or entryway deter you—it’s clean and has the charm of a classic hunting lodge. Once inside, the dining area is lovely, adorned with plenty of lights. The food was outstanding; our group of seven thoroughly enjoyed everything from chicken parmesan and lasagna to chicken Marsala, spaghetti, and lobster gnocchi. The clams casino were a delightful find, a dish you don’t see often these days. And the desserts were incredible—definitely try the crème brûlée and lemon cream. Overall, our experience was exceptional!

Anthony's has made remarkable improvements since last year. The food has returned to its exceptional standards that we enjoyed over thirty years ago. Before our last visit, we were hesitant about coming back due to two previous experiences that just didn't live up to our beloved trattoria's reputation. For decades, we had consistently praised Anthony's to family and friends, but the quality had noticeably declined. Perhaps the introduction of a more skilled chef or a reassessment of their food sources, preparation, and presentation has made a difference. Whatever the reason, we are delighted to be back. On this visit, I decided to stray from my usual choices and tried an incredibly delicious ragu made from beef, pork, and veal, served with perfectly cooked pappardelle pasta. My dining companions also enjoyed their selections of seafood, chicken parmesan, and rigatoni with sausage. It's safe to say that Anthony's is back on top. As for kid-friendliness, the little ones will definitely enjoy their meals!

Had my brother 60th birthday party there and it was wonderful. The food was incredible with good-sized plates, and the staff was very helpful and pleasant. The private room was very nice, and the seating arrangement was well done, and no one had to squeeze in anywhere.
