This is for the restaurant. Service was great. Breakfast sausage gravy has changed. Not as good as before.Service: 5/5
We stayed here three nights and enjoyed ourselves immensely, playing two rounds on the San Vicente course and one on the nearby Mt Woodson. This is no fancy pants resort, but what it offers, it does very well. The course is well maintained and challenging, with lots of interest. Rooms are fairly basic but have everything one needs, are clean and well kept. Food at the bar was exceptional (though breakfast in the Oak Grill was disappointing very slow to appear after ordering and poorly cooked). Staff are friendly and welcoming. And all this comes at a very decent price. This is exactly the kind of golf club one would like to be a member of we left feeling that local residents and members were fortunate indeed.
The range was not available as well as the putting/chipping green. Would have been nice to have been notified considering we showed up an hour early. The pace of play was absolutely horrible, I think we made it to the 2nd hole and every other tee box after was a waiting game! That is the longest it’s ever taken me to play a round of golf. What was even worse was no Course Marshall to speed up pace of play. The course and layout itself was amazing, it’s a great course that is well kept and maintained. Almost like finding a hidden gem with how many unkept course there are in SD County. Don’t come here if you enjoy ready golf!
One of the guys that manages the golf course kicked us off the golf course by stealing our keys right from the ignition and yelled saying we were trespassing and to “get the hell out of here”. There were NO signs anywhere around the golf course that says no trespassing. The gates all around the neighborhood are even open for golf carts. (As seen in PHOTO below). He was very old and very mean.If you’re going to close the course, maybe remember to put up signs and close the entrances.
