Umami Japanese Steakhouse Sushi

Our chef was amazing. very experienced and personal. eating was fantastic.

My daughter and the five of her friends had their 16th birthday dinner there. they really enjoyed it! it was great! highly recommended. make them safe, reservations 1.

I have always come here for Sushi, in my opinion they have the best Sushi that I have tried in Raleigh! And the staff is always so friendly! But this past weekend I brought my son who is unfortunately a picky eater. I knew he wouldn’t eat 90% of what comes with the kid’s plate so I just ordered him 2 servings of hibachi chicken ONLY the chicken. Tell me why my youngest son’s full plate of food with chicken, rice, veggies, noodles, the whole ordeal was $11-$12 but just the 2 orders of chicken was (after tax) $20!!!!! And the serving(s) barely filled an appetizer plate. I could go to the grocery store and buy 6-8 good size chicken breasts for $20!! I too own a restaurant and I couldn’t imagine price gouging my customers like that. Bad business model.

I ordered Umami at 7pm from Uber eats. Put in explicit instructions “NO MUSHROOMS, ALLERGY”. Meals get dropped off by Uber eats driver at 8:30. I opened the containers only to find MUSHROOMS in BOTH MEALS….PLEASE LOOK AT THE RECEIPT. How does this happen? Who verifies the food coming out of the expo window? Who looks for allergies? A lot of questions and concerns. What is the point of customer requests, if they’re not granted and or taken seriously? I am thankful that I actually looked at our food prior to eating it. You all should take allergies very serious, especially now days. Thanks for the tease…

Only have been here for lunch, but Umami is fast becoming my favorite Brier Creek lunch spot. $11 for (very tasty) hibachi chicken... just a few cents more than other fast food hibachi places (and cooked in front of you, which can be fun). Typically in and out in under 45 minutes.Staff is very friendly and accommodating, so I'm a fan.
