Fogata Brava Grill Tequila - Raleigh

The food and service were satisfactory, but they informed us that they no longer use OpenTable for reservations, and unfortunately, there was no reservation made for us.

Great food. my dame and I shared two escapes, which was more than enough, and then the tres!

The staff was very friendly that eating was so delicious!

We have eaten several times in the fogata brava grill tequila and are very satisfied. it is local, no chain or a Tex/Mex restaurant. the menu concentrates on tacos and enchiladas and they offer specialties about once a week. the personal is very friendly and remember what they like and make great recommendations. we have tried some of the tacos and can recommend the carnitas, tinga de pollo and cameron blacken. the enciladas de mol have a very rich dark brown maulp and the enchiladas suizas have a generous amount of salsa verde. the black sides are very fresh and tasty.

The food was decent, but not particularly impressive. I ordered the same dish I usually get at Gonza in North Raleigh, which is closer to home, and Gonza is far superior. This restaurant claims to be upscale Mexican, but it definitely doesn't feel that way—it has more of a chain restaurant vibe, and it turns out it is a chain, which wasn't clear from the description. Additionally, the service was quite slow, even though the restaurant was relatively empty and there were plenty of servers around. Our server spent much of her time chatting with friends and family dining there. The first margarita I ordered was a strawberry flavor, and while it was good, it was mostly ice and they forgot the salt. The second margarita, raspberry flavored, was terrible. We won't be returning. This is actually the second time I'm writing this review, as my first attempt was never posted for some reason.
