The presentation of each dish was beautiful and the preparation and flavor combinationswere amazing. I would feel confident ordering any menu item knowing that it's going to be impressive. Started with the steaktartare and fried shrimp. You'd think fried shrimp can only be so impressive but the texture and flavor was wonderful as was thegarlic aioli that it was served with. The tartare was wonderful and was served with delicious sesame and rice crisps. The flavorcombination of the Long Island strip entree was perfection. I'm normally not even an okra fan but it was delicious along withthe grilled corn, fried tobacco onions and chimichurri sauce. We were blown away by the creme brulee which was served with ablueberry basil granita, candied lemon peel and spiced almonds. Again, another amazing flavor combination!! I can't wait to comeback for another excellent experience and I'm now looking so forward to trying the rest of Ashley's restaurants.
The food was simply delicious! Sat at the kitchen counter to see everything being made. Grilled octopus, mussels and a 45-day aged NY strip pictured, but the menu is frequently updated with fresh flavors. Craft cocktails are also on point. Willdefinitely be back!
I'd heard such good hype about this place, I was almost nervous to go, but it's just a neat spot with GREAT food and impeccable, friendly service. The space is neat love an open kitchen, and especially love the wood fire, both for vibe and because itmakes everything delicious. Our cocktails were totally part of the tasting experience, with even the spirit free drinks createdand described with incredible care. I loved that my Blueberry Basil cocktail came with a lightning bolt zest in it! The oystersin chili butter were really good (even for someone who doesn't like oysters), though one of them lost its butter before goinginto the oven to get kissed and got a little shriveled. The mixed greens salad was so so good and HUGE. Shaved Manchego shouldbe listed as the first ingredient. No regrets though! It's almost weird to mention but the seeded bread is divine. I'dseriously go just for that with cultured butter. The pork chop was really well cooked. Lots of fat, which I eat around, but theseasoning, the sear and the cook were perfect. It was actually the farro and butter bean curry under it that I could not stopeating! We were crazy stuffed but got the chocolate peanut butter tart with salted caramel whipped cream anyway and it wassilky and rich but not overly sweet. Really yummy! Deserving of the hype, this a must do in Raleigh.
Overall a great experience with service that paid attention room to details. This is the first place that I can recall crumbing my table and placing service prior to entrees. This can be family style as the portions are large. The drinks were a bit slow tocome out but our server made us aware. They could use a bit more sound dampening maybe even under the tables- it was difficultto hear conversation.
Pros: Food was delicious. Ambience was excellent. Servers were friendly and helped us choose the right food. The whole experience was fantastic. A great date night option. Cons: It was crowded and we were seated very close to the next table. Itfelt jam packed. We couldn?t talk freely since we could literally hear what the couple from the table next to us were talking.
