Downtown Coffee is a small cafe inside the historic Iglesia y Convento de San Agustín (Church and convent of Saint Augustine). The 16th century structure is located in Old Town Quito, Ecuador. San Agustín is one of the seven monumental churches of the 16th and 17th centuries whose main portico was built on stone in the Spanish Baroque-architecture style. The food was delicious and the price was suprisingly low at less than $3. I enjoyed chicken soup followed by seco de pollo.
Very good breakfast and dinner away from the trouble of calle chile. as a plus the speak english :
Amazing Almuerzo really tasty soup, interesting and different choices for main and the juice was delicious. Amazing value for $2.50! And it was packed, with new people arriving constantly so clearly popular. If you can sit near the window at the back you get a lovely view of the inner courtyard of the church.
As a foreigner traveling Solo, downtown coffee was a perfect spot to stop for a break and check in online. I had to struggle through my order with rudimentary Spanish so have your translator app ready if you don't speak Spanish
