Speakeasy Coffeehouse - Quitman

I arrived just seven minutes before closing time and was met with an unwelcoming atmosphere from the baristas, who didn't greet me and seemed annoyed by my presence. I acknowledged their impending closing and informed them that I was just ordering to go. I decided on the egg salad sandwich, which was delicious, and placed an order for an iced Ernest Hemingway. The order was processed quickly and was ready in two minutes. After leaving a tip, I headed to my car, only to discover that they had forgotten to add the espresso to my drink, simply putting a sleeve on it as if I wouldn’t notice. I ended up paying $6 for a cup of salted caramel milk instead. Having worked at a coffee shop myself, I understand the frustration when customers arrive close to closing time after everything has been cleaned. However, if the baristas don’t want to serve customers who are considerate of their hours, I hope this review serves as a reminder that their job entails serving people coffee until the official closing time, regardless of their feelings about it. I won’t be returning.

I've visited this place twice in the late morning while traveling through Quitman. I tried the café breve and chai tea latte, and both were quite good. However, what truly sets this spot apart is its atmosphere—cozy and inviting, definitely not your typical chain coffee shop. This morning, three ladies were playing instruments in the front, which added to the charm. I highly recommend stopping by for a drink, whether you want to catch up with friends or work on your laptop.

My granddaughter and I stopped by for coffee, an Italian soda, and a chicken salad. The coffee and food were quite good. Unfortunately, the young women at the counter were quite rude. They ignored us for nearly 10 minutes and didn't say a word. Eventually, they took our order, but that was after a long wait. This happened on a Wednesday afternoon around 2 o'clock, and it wasn't busy at all. On a positive note, the woman in the back who delivered our sandwich was very friendly. However, the practice of asking for a tip before receiving our food or coffee, especially when we weren't sure of the service quality, was quite disappointing. Overall, I was let down by the staff at such a lovely establishment.

Wouldn?t recommend the ?smoothies?. the coconut/pineapple one was okayish, but the mango one mysteriously had no mango in it?? basically a milk smoothie ????. love that for me ????.

Totally fun ....a great place to gather..... Wonderful conversation and the hosts are also a good time to visit with .
