From May 8, 1882 to 2012, the La Paz Club is an inexhaustible milestone on the great events of Bolivia's history. He was born to social life in the Nineteenth Century. Three years after the Pacific War. He witnessed two other conflagrations in the 20th Century: The War of the Acre and the War of the Chaco and in the first years of the 20th Century, he attends to the transformation of the Republic of Bolivia, in a Plurinational State, whose projections, whether successful or not, are in process. In more than 130 years, the Club de La Paz shined and also enmuded, in the face of events as hard and sinister as the three wars declared by neighboring countries, the agitated and crude coups of state; sounded the life of illustrious, like Gualberto Villarroel. It seems that the foundation of the La Paz Club was a project that floated long before the Chilean invasion to the Bolivian Litoral. Some speeches, recorded in the press at that time, perceived “the future club” as a civic institution that would be responsible for informing and spreading love to the department and thus to the Homeland. The first directory of May 8, 1882, was composed of Heriberto Gutiérrez, Alcides Granier, José Enrique Guerra, Guillermo Grundy, José Rosendo Gutiérrez, Samuel Torres, Cesáreo Zalles and Sergio del Castillo. One hundred and thirty years later, the directory chosen in May 2012, was headed by José Enrique Pacheco Alvarez, Mónica Castrillo, Eduardo Lorini, Eduardo Gainza Fernando Ortiz, Hugo Alborta, Daniel Vega de La Torre, Mónica Vera and currently, in 2014, the new president of the Club de La Paz, is the intellectual and engineer Alvaro Riveros Tejada. LA GUERRA DEL CHACO The name of General Carlos Galindo is printed in the Memory of the Club of La Paz, 1910.
