Called 2 large Pho noodle soups (Tonkinois Soup) They charged us 50$! Yes, 50$! The soups were not hot, the water was very dark and salty! They brought us the over-dated Chop-suey dish, brown color, smelted! I argued with them! They came out the chef-cook, waitress, explained that because they made this special soup and large! I really liked to call the police, but because of my children, they didn't want hard argument! My son loves Pho, but at this restaurant he only finished half! He know if it is a good Pho or not! After all, they asked me how much I wanted to pay, means the price was not 25$ a Noodle soup! P/s: Be careful, they looked at you if you are tourists and not the local residents and will plan to charge overpriced!
The restaurant we had chosen was closed for vacation and there we were on 1st avenue four tourists on a Friday night, exhausted an hungry. Ta Dam! my friend Johanne noticed this restaurant and we went in. François took very good care of us, even with the place almost full. The food was amazing! We all chose different meals but all of us were very satisfied. It was the perfect meal for a perfect day. A few of our selections: fried won ton,General Tao chicken, ginger chicken and tempura shrimps and veggies. Oh and let's not forget these amazing fried pineapple beignets!!! Miam! I am going back with my family!
We went at 6:30pm on Saturday and it was relatively empty. Service is prompt and polite. Ordered fried wonton, beef pho and curry shrimp with rice. Fried wonton was undercooked and the filling was still raw. The owner apologized and redid the plate but did not offer anything else. Beef pho was decent but there are no options with tendon or tripe. Curry shrimps was okay. Assortment of vegetables and a strange addition of raw onions which did not work that well. We read some previous reviews and did not have very high expectations so I call this experience an average one. Very pricy for as far as pho restaurants are concerned.
Was really in the mood for some Pho, a very warm and comfortable atmosphere with plenty of tables. I had the beef and my wife had the deluxe Pho. A little different from what I normally get in NYC, very flavorful but a little on the oily side but still delicious. I also had the spring rolls which were delicious but again a little different. Every time I have had spring rolls they serve it with mint and lettuce wraps. I take the spring roll and some mint and wrap the lettuce around them and dip in the sauce provided. No mint and no lettuce wrap, the spring roll was good but not the same.
