La Dominicaine Café Traiteur - Québec

This place is a sunbeam, even more in the cold winter we can have here. The food is delicious. Secondly, the parts are perfect. The third, the staff/owner? is really nice. Fourth, it's budget friendly to 13$ the main. I went there with a friend, I had the Arroz con pollo y guandule rice with chicken and peas / beans, while my friend had the Bandera Dominican flag or rice with pork and peas / beans. And since it is winter / we live only to eat, we shared 2 enpenadas, a chicken and a beef. Both mains were really tasteful, and I felt right in the tropics at lunch with my family eating homemade food. So good. Spices were well weighed, beans were smooth without savoring their shape, meat was 't dry and empenadas. Oh, the Empenadas. The pastry is flocky and the stuffing pairs are beautiful with their spicy sauce, which is not so spicy, but if you want something sizier, just ask the staff!

The Empinadas were very tasteful, the meat was well seasoned and the pastry crust was fluffy! The Avacado salad was also good, a good balance of Avacado and tomatoes on a bed of leaf vegetables in some olive oil. The coffee was a good coffee not to write at home, but also no complaints. The prices were fair. Service was good and polite. Decor was nice the restaurant had a good color scheme and beautiful art on the walls. The seat was a little tight, but the room was small. Overall highly recommended.

Authentic, home cooked and delicious food. My wife and I loved it and will definitely come back when in town!
