Contribuiți la feedbackWhenever I return to Canada, it is just as important to visit quebec city and my favorite Indian rest. Super service, extremely friendly owners, and above all, delicious food. it is certainly a1 compared to the offered in Central Europe!
I make Indian food every day at home for dinner and missed it on our trip to quebec city. we were glad to find this restaurant on a walk. it lost only one point for the ambiente as it was a beautiful day with so many. terraces around him, and unfortunately this restaurant was in the cellar. the waiter was attentive, the preparation was fast, and it was hot, tasteful, good portions and tasty. Between us we shared the dal tarka, vegetarian briyani, brinjal and tandoori roti. I would return here again and recommend to anyone seeking authentic Indian food.
If they like Indian food, this is not the place to go if they want raw Indian food, they can take this risk. the sikh kababab were raw from the inside. tandoori roti, they can visually see whether it is cooked or not, still it was served raw. tarka dal is one of the simplest Indian dish when someone messes up that they do not deserve to cook Indian food. my Tarka-dal was extremely salty. I traveled a lot and was in restaurants where eating is simply bad, but with a distance is the worst Indian I had.
We came without reservation on a Friday night. this is a small place byob, a cellar place that seems to offer a younger crowd. two server seemed sufficient for the size of the restaurant. the food was Indian standard. we ordered a package-...2-person tasting menu. the bummer was the slow and uninspired service. no water service was offered after the first two glasses. No one came to see if everything was in order. that was very simple, minimal service, no smile, no thanks, no farewell. we will not be back.
We were visiting Quebec city to bring our cat to see a vet specialist. We had never stayed in Quebec city before and had no idea where to order from. On a whim, we decided to order from this restaurant since we do like Indian...food. My wife and I ordered naan bread, fish bhoona, and lamb jalfrezi. The food came insanely quick. The estimated time we 45 minutes but it arrived in about 15. The food was hot when it arrived and nicely presented. We shared both dishes and they were aromatic, spicy, and well-crafted. The fish bhoona was amazing with tender yet firm chunks of white fish in a tomato based curry accompanied by onions and peppers. The lamb was also tender and flavourful. The naan bread was a great accompaniment. Often, Indian restaurants skimp on the spice. This place doesn't! I have nothing bad to say. We are going to Quebec city again in May for our cat and I think we will order from the same place both nights that we are there. THAT'S how much we liked it.
