Chez Ashton - Québec

Interestingly, we were told by a local mother with two children before loading that the Pro-Tune is the best in the city. the children cheat the mother. we tried. it is a fast food setting, but the quality is...good we add additional cheese curbs (form) and it was a good movement. also the Bacon-Käseburgers are good. overall is a reasonable good lunch!

Customers have the option to customize their poutines with various toppings, and the service was excellent. The poutine itself was delicious!

So many friends from the Québec city area have told me that AshTon is simply the best poutine around. Whilst that may be the case in Québec city, I have had much better poutine and AshTon wouldn't make my top 5. The restaurant itself is...small. There is extra seating downstairs in a somewhat dumpy bunker style setting. The staff are friendly and explain the different options. Prices are standard for this type of food. The poutine. Lots of cheese. Gravy, tasty, but found there was lacking gravy. French fries were home style and good. Not sure what was missing, I just found the poutine to be ok. Again, I'm comparing to what I have eaten here in the Montréal area. It is also possible that at another location or even another cook making the food would make it better. I left a little dissapointed.

Based on a recommendation from our taxi driver, we decided to try this restaurant and we were definitely not let down. It was our first time trying poutine and we absolutely enjoyed it! The restaurant is clean, has a fast food setup, and the food was scrumptious. The prices were very reasonable.
