Bar Nazionale is very much the locals' café, with excellent coffee and a real buzz not fashionable or particularly smart, but still a very good place to enjoy the atmosphere of Quarrata. The lovely staff are a delight, always helpful, especially when I totter in on my cycling cleats to order Due Americani.

Café Nazionale is close to the centre of Quarrata on the main road in from Prato. It's a busy place, very popular with locals. The ladies running it are charming, producing great coffee quickly and with skill. There are chairs outside, but a lot of customers take their coffee inside, so there was room for us as we passed on our early morning rides. I have reviewed another café in Quarrata elsewhere on Trip Advisor and it's difficult to choose between the two, so my recommendation is to try both.
