Black Bird Schnitzel Haus

My partner and I were pleasantly surprised with our meal at this restaurant. Reservations are a must due to the popular setting. Even though our reservation was for 5:00 pm, the place did not fill up soon after we arrived. There is a large selection of carvings available. We tried the qualicum and jaeger, though we felt that adding more gravy and mushrooms would have made it perfect and more economical. We also wanted to order the apfelstrudel, but our waitress recommended having it hot and fresh and then packing up whatever we couldn't finish. We ended up licking the plate clean! Overall, we would recommend this restaurant.

We had a fabulous experience at a local restaurant in Buena Vista by the sea. The food was excellent, the service was friendly, and they had a great selection of beer.

I listened to a friend's recommendation and I must say it was great. I didn't try so much German kitchen, but that was the best I had. I had the hunter art carving with spaetzle, and a beer of course, and had penetrated with taste and portion. this place is something on the expensive side, but not ridiculous prices on some wise. it took a little longer then expected to place my order for the drink and the food, but once placed it came very fast so it compensated. I also recommend to try the apfelstrudel for dessert, it is very delicious. the location is very nice directly opposite the road from the sea with beautiful decor. make them a reservation because they are employed in the rule and do not have much seat.

Yes, it was alright. Having lived in Germany, I was expecting the potato pancakes to be more authentic and softer than the typical Canadian pan fried ones. I also had hoped for a side of sauce, but they require it to be ordered separately, and it was not very good. The prices were a bit steep for what was offered. The schnitzel was a bit greasy, but then again, it is schnitzel. It was still tasty! The atmosphere is lovely, and I appreciated the German music playing in the background. I wish it was a bit cozier, but the service was up to par.

This restaurant is a reliable choice for good schnitzel and good service. Our regular favorite choice is the Jaegar schnitzel with spaetzle.
