That's better! Madam in the kitchen, sir in the bedroom, covered that day. mission accomplished, hat low. It’s fresh, it’s good. Welcome, bravo. an excellent time spent in your establishment where sympathy is rigorous. We will come back with great pleasure.
I have been going here for over twenty years when in the region. It has changed little in that time and only for the better. It is a traditional restaurant run by Marie Josephe and her husband Frederic who are genuinely kind, friendly and welcoming and as a result they have a lot of loyal customers French, English, Danish and Dutch. The meal usually follows a similar format: soup, charcuterie, meat or fish dish, cheese and dessert with coffee served with a choice of local Quercy wine red or rosé and fresh wood oven baked bread. There is an a la carte menu, but I have never tried it. Most of the fruit and veg are sourced from local farms. Food is generally served on the peaceful, leafy terrace, but there is also and indoor dining room with wood fired oven which is sometimes used for cooking in the winter, because it is open all year round. Le vieux moulin is a true gem.
What a great lunch at auberge du vieux moulin. Off the beaten track and beautiful surroundings. The host was so kind and welcoming, food fantastic soup, then salad, the mains (fish or chicken), cheese board, sweet and coffee accompanied by a very nice rose wine. And all for €13 per head. Lots of French folk there in their lunch break which is always a sure sign of something pretty good. We'll be back!!
Source de La Lère Brose, 82240 PUYLAROQUE There used in France to be so many of these family-run places, where you had limited choice, but good plain food with wine included: they are something of a dying breed. Here, we had a plate of salad and charcuterie, soup, duck breast or salmon, a generous cheese board and a choice of puddings, all for €15 per head. Brisk and cheerful service; simple, pleasant surroundings. There are places where you can eat better and in fancier surroundings, but this is a place you leave with a big smile on your face, and hoping to return soon.
Will not be coming back here the manager was very rude towards my cousin and I after we found two hairs in both poutines.
