Americas Best Value Inn Putnam

This place was shabby. The carpet had been removed from the room, there appears to have been flooding or water damage to the floor, the lighting was gloomy and industrial, and there was urine in the toilet when I arrived. The lobby worker was nice, but this motel is very run down. Only stay here if you have to.

The beds were comfortable, bathroom was decent, there was a seperate vanity area, mini fridge and microwave, and a small table with 2 chairs, and the room was spacious. The hotel was in an extremely convenient location, immediately off the highway. The check in was smooth and everyone we interacted with was very friendly. HOWEVER, the lobby, halls, and room absolutely reeked of nasty cigarette smoke (we were in a non smoking area right near lobby). No bugs but the linens were filthy and covered in stains, hair, etc. There was one thin sheet covering the matress (no matress cover). Bathroom wash clothes were white but tinted brown/gray from use and need to be replaced. TV was very outdated and the remote barely worked (no tv guide option) and remote looked like it had never been cleaned. We traveled with our two daughters over 10 y.o. and would not be comfortable letting them out of our sight. No breakfast location or any other amenities. This place has great potential but needs to stop the smoking and needs to get rid of the nasty smoke smell there had to be active smoking inside our same hallway and the employees would smoke right outside the front entrance. Invest in clean bedding and towels. We stayed for 2 nights and tried finding another place to stay immediately but everything was booked with fall weddings. Might be okay for a one or two night stay but not longer..We will not be coming back.

Play the show that night right up the road so it was very convenient. I was a guest of a guest to be honest with you, so I'm not sure how it went with the bookings and everything. But we did have towels, and all the other stuff we needed. And we didn't end up with bed bugs so that's always a plus. #THATSBURNT

I stayed here for awhile it was peaceful the owners were nice handle any problems in a timely manner. Fairly priced for weekly rates. House keeping was wonderful even though we did our own cleaning they always left fresh towels and toilet paper by the door and respected the do not disturb sign.Safety: Quiet set back by itself

Adequate at best. No coffee on the property. Someone knocked on my door, which did not have a chain or bar lock, 3 separate times during the night. I called the front desk to alert them and was told I, a single woman in the room, should be fine, it was raining out, I responded that meant it was probably someone staying in the hotel. If it happens again the knock on my door) i was going to call 911 and she told me don't do that. I hung up and luckily it did not happen again.Safety: Read my comment above
