Contribuiți la feedbackWe tried this place because we always see it full-packed. Now I know why… aside from the food being delicious it also offers entertainment every hour! The waiters are in costume (DC & Marvel superheroes) and at the tick of the clock, ALL of them have to put down the trays, then sing & dance in the hallway… great for occasion and children!
Easter Sunday has always been special and we normally go out for lunch to celebrate it. This year we tried Pig Out in Solenad, Nuvali, Sta. Rosa, Laguna, walking distance from our home. We were lucky to get the last available table. I thought Pig Out was a barbecue restaurant and was surprised that it served Filipino dishes with a dish. We ordered sisig in wraps and spicy chicken wings for appetizers and had grilled tuna belly with chilis, crispy kare-kare, pork 3-way sinigang (in tamarind, guava and kamias broth) and dilis and chicharon fried rice. We haven't tried any of these dishes before except for the crispy kare-kare which is also served in a number of Manila restaurants. Of the 2 appetizers, I liked the sisig in wraps. It was novel and delicious. The sinigang was superb! The flavors infused by the ripe guava in the broth was refreshing. The crispy kare-kare was just average and the serving size was also quite small. The grilled tuna belly was not as hot as expected and the chilis did not have the kick we anticipated. The dilis fried rice was good with an abundance of crispy dilis and fried garlic and topped with slivers of fresh green mango. The chicharon fried rice was so-so, nothing really special. The restaurant served water with cucumber and lemon slices which was effective in cleansing the palate after each dish. Prices were a bit high considering the small serving sizes. The restaurant caters to families and big groups and is informal. There are 2 televisions where sports channels are shown. With its hits and misses, I would probably be back to try the other dishes and discover some stars in the process.
Food was mediocre although hubby liked the peri-peri chicken. If the portion size was a bit bigger, it would've been better. For a place that calls itself Pig Out, you can't really pig out unless you buy several dishes. If they're worried about the food cost, they should just increase the price and stay true to the establishment's name.
I only went once. My meat was almost raw. The guy making shakes dropped the melon on the floor, picked it up, and just continued to use the same melon for the shakes. When I told the manager he said it's not a problem. Poor food service discipline even for the management.
We decided to visit this restaurant after seeing it always busy. Now I understand why... Not only is the food delicious, but they also provide entertainment every hour! The waitstaff are dressed in DC Marvel superhero costumes, and on the stroke of the hour, they all stop what they're doing, put down their trays, and proceed to sing and dance in the restaurant. It's a great experience for special occasions and families with children!
